# Missing Prompts

> What it is: A dashboard in GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) that shows queries where . These are your missed AI visibility opportunities.

***

## Objective & Benefits

* **Spot gaps fast:** See exactly which prompts you’re absent from.
* **Prioritize content:** Turn each missed prompt into a content/task brief.
* **Track progress:** Watch the count trend down as you fix gaps.

***

## When to Use It

Use this page when you want to:

* Audit where AI assistants (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, etc.) skip your brand.
* Plan new content or updates to win those mentions..

***

## Page Anatomy

### 1. Header Metrics & Controls

* **Answers so far:** Total AI answers analyzed where your brand was missing.
* **Last updated:** Timestamp of the latest data refresh.
* **Date picker:** Choose the time range you’re reviewing.
* **Comparison (Changes):** Compare current data to a previous period (e.g., last 7 days) to see deltas.

### 2. Trend Chart

A line chart that visualizes the count of missing-prompt answers over time (daily). A downward trend = you’re improving.

### 3. Filters

* **Platform:** Limit to one AI platform or view all.
* **Topic:** Narrow to a content cluster/theme.
* **Prompt search/sort:** Find or sort specific questions.

### 4. Table of Missing Prompts

Each row lists a prompt where your brand wasn’t mentioned:

* **Platform** – Where the answer came from (ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.).
* **Topic** – The thematic bucket for the prompt.
* **Prompt** – The exact user query.
* **Brand Mentions** – Always 0 here (that’s why it’s in this list).

> *Optional:* Clicking a row (if enabled) opens the answer details to see which competitors were cited and why.

***

## Step-by-Step Workflow

1. **Pick your scope:** Set date range, choose a platform/topic if needed.
2. **Scan the chart:** Note spikes or drops in missing prompts.
3. **Review the table:** Identify high-value prompts (high intent, high volume, strategic keywords).
4. **Create/optimize content:** Use Writesonic’s tools to draft or improve articles targeting those prompts.
5. **Re-check later:** Return to see if the prompt drops off the list (i.e., you got mentioned).

***

## Best Practices

* Group similar prompts and address them with one comprehensive resource.
* Mirror the language of the prompt in your content (titles, headings, FAQs).
* Add citations, stats, and structured data to increase your chance of being referenced by AI.
* Track weekly to keep momentum and prove ROI.

## FAQs

**Does this include prompts where no brands are mentioned?** No. This view focuses on prompts where others are mentioned and you’re not.

**Why is “Brand Mentions” always zero here?** Because this page only shows missing prompts—by definition, you’re absent.

**Can I see the actual AI answer?** If available, click the prompt row to view the answer and cited sources.

**How quickly will changes show up?** After you publish/optimize content, allow some time for AI systems to re-crawl. Check back in a few days or weeks, depending on the platform’s refresh cadence.

## Summary

Use **Prompts: Missing Prompts** as your to-do list for AI visibility. Filter, find the gaps, fix them with targeted content, and monitor the trend downwards.
